» Nike Air Max

In honor of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Opening Ceremony NY and LA will be releasing the Nike Air Max 1 metallics and the Nike Lunaracer on the 8th of August exclusively at these specific boutiques.  The release will be available by invitation only and they are limited to one pair per client.  The rest of the pairs will be released at a later date.  Along with the sneakers, Opening Ceremony will be selling many Olympic themed products such as shirts, sweaters, and hoodies from the apparel line by Nike Sportswear.

Nike has called on designer Kevin Lyons to create a truly unique Air Max 90 current.  This pair consists of mandarin/white-anthracite while adding a inner lining design and on the tongue.  The toe and the upper back is made out of mesh similar to some Nike Shox models to add more breathability.  The release is scheduled for Aug 8th at select Nike Quickstrike accounts.  More pics below via Sneakerfiles.

Nike has created another collection in commemoration of the Beijing Olympics this time, an Air Max collection involving six types of Air Max.  Two types of Air Max 87’s, two types of Air Max BWs, one pair of Air Max 90s and one pair of 95’s.  Each pair of these sneakers are inspired by the Beijing National Stadium AKA “Birds Nest.”  The purple, beige and metallic grey 87’s for example contains small octagons which represent the eight sides of the stadium while the other has a lined pattern above the sole to represent the nest.  The Air Max collection is scheduled to release on August 8th, the start of the Olympics at select Nike retailers.  Check out more pics courtesy of sneakernews.

Nike has released a limited edition Air Max 1 Medal pack In commemoration of the 2008 Olymics held in Beijing in early August.  The soles and swooshes of each sneaker is representing a specific medal for the third, second and first place winners.  You can get these three colorways at select Nike retailers.
